CEDA events: Coronavirus update

At CEDA we are proud to regularly convene and engage speakers and audiences as an essential element of our efforts to broaden discussion and debate of the most important policy issues facing Australia. In doing so, our first priority is always the safety and wellbeing of our guests, venue and CEDA staff.

CEDA remains true to its purpose of providing platforms to inform and promote debate of critical issues and driving policy solutions and are continuing critical discussions for Australia’s economic, social and environmental development through a digital events program including interactive livestreams, podcasts and video as well as the virtual Trustee roundtable discussions.

CEDA is also moving to deliver hybrid events that include a livestream and a small audience in attendance. CEDA has worked with venues to ensure that social distancing can be maintained and facilities and equipment have been properly sanitised. Attendance numbers adhere to government guidelines.

In line with government advice we request people that are unwell with cough or fever or other respiratory symptoms do not attend CEDA events. We also ask that you follow government advice and maintain social distancing by refraining from shaking hands or exchanging physical greetings, and wherever possible, staying at least 1.5 metres away from others.

CEDA will continue to closely monitor government advice regarding public gatherings and act on relevant health advice from the Australian government in relation to COVID-19.

About CEDA events

CEDA events take place around Australia on the policy issues facing local, regional and national development. CEDA events provide an opportunity to be informed, to engage and to discuss the economic development of Australia. That’s why CEDA has more than 50,000 event attendances annually, including more than 22,000 at face-to-face events and more than 25,000 online participants.

Interactive Livestream events

CEDA's Interactive Livestream digital events program sees speakers from across Australia come together to discuss the critical issues for Australia's economic, social and environmental development. Registered guests gain access to the livestream events, can participate in the conversation and submit questions for Q&A as well as receive exclusive access to presentations and videos ahead of the public.

Public events

From the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader, State Premiers, CEOs of the ASX Top 200 to leading academics, CEDA events deliver top speakers looking at the critical issues for business at over 100 public events annually.

Trustee only boardroom briefings

CEDA delivers exclusive CEDA Trustee only boardroom briefings across Australia throughout the year. Trustees are senior executives from member organisations.

A valued membership benefit, these briefings provide a unique opportunity for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and for speakers and attendees to talk candidly about key policy issues. Chatham House Rule applies at these events. During this time, the Trustee briefings have transitioned to virtual roundtable discussions.

Member only events

CEDA hosts a range of special member only events each year across Australia where registration is available exclusively for CEDA members and their guests.
