The Hon. Meaghan Scanlon
Queensland Minister for the Environment and the Great Barrier Reef, Minister for Science and Youth Affairs

Meaghan was elected to the seat of Gaven in November 2017 and immediately took on the role of Assistant Minister for Tourism Development. Following the Labor Government’s election win in 2020, Meaghan was appointed to her current portfolios, the youngest cabinet minister in Queensland history. Meaghan completed her law degree at Griffith University and was driven to get involved in politics as a teenager due to the issue of climate change and her passion to ensure we leave a better world for the next generation.

Peter Price
Executive General Manager, Engineering, Energy Queensland

Peter was appointed to the Energy Queensland Executive in November 2016 and is responsible for leading the Group’s engineering and asset management strategies, which includes the safe and efficient management of the Group’s electricity distribution networks. Prior to joining Energy Queensland, Peter was a member of Energex’s executive management team for ten years. His career with Energex included managing and leading capital planning and program delivery, asset management, procurement, regulatory issues and the growth of new commercial businesses. Peter is also Chair of Energy Skills Queensland and sits on the Board of Redback Technologies.

Trustee event advice - Coronavirus

We at CEDA are proud to regularly convene and engage speakers and audiences as an essential element of our efforts to broaden discussion and debate of the most important policy issues facing Australia. In doing so, our first priority is always the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff.

CEDA is currently running Trustee roundtable discussions virtually and face-to-face where there is member demand and they can be delivered in accordance with government health advice for a specific state.

For face-to-face roundtables, CEDA is working closely with our hosts and venues to ensure that social distancing can be maintained and facilities and equipment have been properly sanitised.

In line with government advice we request people that are unwell with cough or fever or other respiratory symptoms do not attend CEDA events. We also ask that you follow government advice and maintain social distancing by refraining from shaking hands or exchanging physical greetings, and wherever possible, staying at least 1.5 metres away from others.

CEDA is closely monitoring government advice regarding public gatherings and will follow all relevant health advice from the Australian government in relation to COVID-19.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
