Event Overview

There is no more critical issue facing Australia than the future of our energy supply.

Australia is leading the world with the penetration of renewable energy into its electricity grids. As a nation that has abundant sunshine, a long windy coastline and vast areas of land, the opportunity is significant.

Balancing reliability with cost and environmental efficiency is critical to Australia’s energy future. Digital technologies enable this to be managed and simulated effectively. This also means the nation must produce people with the right skills and experience using the right tools of trade – a point highlighted in the recent federal budget.

A view from the control room
In the first of our 'Towards Net Zero' series, join newly-appointed AEMO CEO, Daniel Westerman, as he shares a view from the energy control room. Followed by a panel discussion with Daniel Westerman, Siemens ANZ CEO Jeff Connolly and AGL Chief Customer Officer Christine Corbett to explore:

  • How does Australia rank against international peers in terms of energy transition?
  • What are the must haves for Australia in terms of energy policy over the next decade?
