Event Overview

auDA is the Commonwealth endorsed administrator of the .au domain name system. They ensure the security and reliability of this critical infrastructure through oversight of .au rule and policy development, effective complaints handling and dispute resolution processes.

Their unique role means they are afforded insights into how businesses adapt to digital transformation. auDA has seen the surge of businesses moving online due to COVID, with over 167,000 new .au domain registrations in the past 12 months. In the early stage of the pandemic, 85 per cent of businesses moving online were established well before the pandemic began, showing their desire to reach new audiences through new channels.

In a wide-ranging conversation, auDA CEO, Rosemary Sinclair will discuss:
  • trends in online activity in Australia;
  • .au direct – Australia’s newest namespace, and how it will benefit Australian businesses;
  • the rise in cybercrime that has been the digital downside of the pandemic; and
  • the importance of cyber security for business.
