In leaving CEDA, I can honestly say that my time with the organisation has been one of the highlights of my career. For six and a quarter years I have had the great pleasure of steering the direction of CEDA and its ambitious research, public policy and events agenda. During this time we have attracted a great number of senior advocates to speak at our events, increased membership and attendances, and grown government, community and media interest in our output. It has been rewarding to not only see CEDA grow, but seeing its reach and influence expand dramatically.
They say it’s not where you are in the world, but who you’re with, and I would have to agree that the fantastic people I have worked with have contributed to making the job so enjoyable. I would like to thank the state and national teams for their enthusiasm, creativity and hard work.
Thank you also to the CEDA Board, Governors and State Advisory Councils and CEDA’s Council on Economic Policy (CCEP) members, for your contributions and guidance. And finally, thank you to the many CEDA Members, Trustees, speakers and authors who have supported what we do and made our research and events possible.
While I promised an update on the new appointment, the recruitment process is still underway and in the capable hands of Egon Zehnder. So, stay tuned for the announcement of CEDA’s new CEO, who I’m confident will continue to take CEDA to new heights.
Goodbye for now, and I’m sure I will see or be in touch with many of you down the road.
