Chief executive David Byers will be leaving CEDA in October.

Media release issued Thursday, 2 September 2010

Chief executive David Byers will be leaving CEDA in October.

He will take up a senior, Canberra-based role with Airservices Australia.

The chairman of CEDA, Geoff Allen, praised Mr Byers' contribution to CEDA's role in promoting sound policy responses to the key economic reform challenges facing Australia.

"David joined CEDA as chief executive in February 2007," Mr Allen said. "He has made an outstanding contribution through substantial administrative and organisational reforms and reshaping the overall direction of our policy research and thought leadership programs.

"He has been a major factor in what I believe is a resurgence to a prominent national leadership role for CEDA. We wish David well in his future career, and to an ongoing association with CEDA."

CEDA's Victoria/Tasmania State Director, Peter Fitzgerald, will be Acting CEO until a new appointment is made.
